Yet, a bit different. The first step is the same &#8211; <a href=\"\/kb\/log-in-wordpress\/\">navigate to your WordPress Dashboard<\/a> and select <strong>Pages<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Add New<\/strong>. You can also hover over the <strong>Pages<\/strong> option, which will activate a submenu. From there, select Add New to save time and click.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Add-New-Page.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18658\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Add-New-Page-1024x945.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"945\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A new page will appear, allowing you to assign a name to the page and fill it with content.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-43177 size-large\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Add-page-WordPress-1024x534.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s advisable to name the home page &#8220;Home&#8221; or its equivalent in your language, though you&#8217;re free to choose any name.<\/p>\n<p>For now, simply name the page and click publish.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Setting a Page as Your Home Page<\/h2>\n<p>This step often confuses most users.<\/p>\n<p>You might think, &#8220;<em>I&#8217;ve named the page &#8216;Home&#8217;, isn&#8217;t that enough<\/em>?&#8221; However, after creating your home page, you must explicitly set it as such in the CMS.<\/p>\n<p>Return to the Dashboard, hover over the Appearance menu to reveal its sub-options, and click on Customize. A customization page will load.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: The customization options may vary from theme to theme, but the basic steps are consistent across most of them. Regardless of the chosen theme, you can always set up a custom home page in WordPress.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Appearance-Customize-WordPress-Theme.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18659\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Appearance-Customize-WordPress-Theme-1024x560.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"560\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Upon clicking Customize, a new layout will appear with a menu on the left for theme customization. This menu helps you to personalize your site, though customization options may vary by theme.<\/p>\n<p>By default, WordPress displays your <strong>latest posts<\/strong> on the home page. There is an option to select a Static Front Page instead.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Your-Latest-Posts.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18665\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Your-Latest-Posts.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"344\" height=\"404\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you choose the &#8220;A static page&#8221; option, a dropdown menu will show up.
