We figured that adding the pixel might overwhelm you, as it is an operation that requires some technical skills. Although we acknowledge that, we believe that after you read this article, you\u2019ll know how to add the Facebook pixel to a WordPress website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>How to Add Facebook Pixel to WordPress<\/h2>\n<p>You can add the Facebook pixel to WordPress in one of two methods \u2013 you either do it manually, or you use a plugin that allows you to add code in your website\u2019s header.<\/p>\n<p>The correct way and the one that will less affect the <a href=\"\/wordpress-tutorials\/speed-optimization\/\">speed of your WordPress<\/a> is the manual, as the plugins, as little as it is, are weighing down any WordPress, and you, most often than not, should do what you need, without using them.<\/p>\n<p>To add Facebook Pixel to WordPress, you\u2019ll need two things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a new Facebook Pixel, using the Facebook Business Manager (if you haven\u2019t already)<\/li>\n<li>Insert the code that Facebook pixel will present you into the &lt;head&gt; section of your WordPress website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019ll do this in two simple steps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Create a new Facebook Pixel via Facebook Business Manager<\/h3>\n<p>Go to your Facebook Business Manager, and once there, look for the Events Manager.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42987 size-large alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Events-manager-1024x238.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"238\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the page loads, you\u2019ll see the following data source options:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42988 size-large alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/data-sources-1024x527.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"527\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t already, create your Facebook Pixel by clicking the <strong>get started<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p>A box should appear that asks you for a name \u2013 then all you need to do is click <strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42989 size-full alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/create-pixel.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"522\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After that, you should see some options for how to add the Facebook pixel to your website. Choose the <strong>Manually Install the Code Yourself\u00a0<\/strong>option:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42990 size-full alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/manually-install-code-yourself.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"994\" height=\"646\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That should display the Facebook Pixel tracking code:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42991 size-full alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/facebook-pixel-code.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"997\" height=\"650\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, don\u2019t close that tab, while you go to your WordPress website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Step 2: Add Facebook Pixel tracking code to WordPress &lt;head&gt; section<\/h4>\n<p>The method you\u2019ll use to add your Facebook pixel depends on a large number of variables.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t created a <a href=\"\/wordpress-tutorials\/create-wordpress-child-theme\/\">child theme<\/a>, you should be able to edit the <strong><em>header.php<\/em><\/strong> file by using the <strong>Theme Editor<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to your <a href=\"\/wordpress-tutorials\/enter-wordpress-admin-panel\/\">WordPress admin panel<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Hover over the Appearance option in the sidebar menu.<\/li>\n<li>Click the Theme Editor option at the bottom of the pop-up menu.<\/li>\n<li>Look for the <strong><em>php<\/em><\/strong> file, and open it<\/li>\n<li>Add the Facebook Pixel code just <strong>above<\/strong> the <strong>closing<\/strong> head tag &#8211; <strong>&lt;\/head&gt;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42993 size-large alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/header.php_-1024x454.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"454\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If, however, you have created a child theme, depending on the theme you are using, you may be able to add code to your header. This option should be available somewhere in the theme customizing page.
